In Indonesia, When we buy new house, It's mostly without kitchen,
Then it's first task that we need to renovate.
Chinese believe fire and water can't be together, They use this concept in kitchen as well.
I think Fengshui has its logic after study basic of Fengshui, Their kitchen arrangement has hygiene, safety and ventilation concerns in order.
Below is the basic things that needs to be take note in Chinese Fengshui, When you decide the kitchen location and stove placement:
1. Kitchen set up location must be in square or rectangular shape, cannot build in the middle of house or on top/bottom/beside/behind/face bedroom or under the ceiling block bar or near stairs or north side ( water ) or big windy side
2. Kitchen door shouldn't face either bedroom or toilet door or backdoor, For good air circulation in house any door shouldn't face another door directly.
3. Kitchen must be clean, neat, should have good lighting ( no dark corner ) and good ventilation for smoke.
But no open roof or ceiling window is allowed in Fengshui kitchen.
4. Stove cannot be placed near window must with wall support, cannot be placed near corner, stairs, toilet, under hanging cabinet or above water pipe even hidden in ground, also shouldn't be placed within kitchen door open range in vertically and horizontally.
5. Stove cannot be placed opposite of kitchen sinks/dispenser/fridge or one line or between two watertap.
6. Stove must set higher than kitchen table, Kitchen table must set higher than sinks, Dining room should one line with kitchen.
7. Don't place mirror
8. Place some plant in kitchen.
Important Notice:
- Kitchen arrangement should be balance with house, If you follow all but it's not balance, It's the same as bad fengshui.
- A lot of people said we shouldn't set up kitchen near the main door,
But I disagree, As we set kitchen near front of house, We have window exactly better air circulation.
Kitchen smoke exhaust is not enough, You dont want to mop everytime you cook right ?
You can made use of windows glass film so that it wont be seen from road.
